FAQs

What is neurodivergent coaching?

Neurodivergent coaching is a collaborative process that helps you better understand how your brain works, identify your strengths, and develop strategies that fit your life. Rather than trying to “fix” or change who you are, coaching focuses on helping you build a life that supports your authentic self.

Who do you work with?

I work with autistic adults, ADHDers, people with AuDHD, and other neurodivergent individuals. I also welcome people who are questioning whether they may be neurodivergent, are newly diagnosed, or are exploring unmasking and self-discovery.

My practice is proudly LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcomes people of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and identities.

Do I need an official diagnosis?

No. Many people seek coaching while they are self-identifying, waiting for an evaluation, or deciding whether they want to pursue a formal diagnosis. Your lived experience matters.

What can coaching help with?

Coaching may help with:

  • Understanding your neurodivergent identity
  • Reducing burnout and preventing future burnout
  • Unmasking and building self-acceptance
  • Executive functioning challenges
  • Time management and organization
  • Managing sensory needs
  • Creating sustainable routines
  • Navigating work or school
  • Relationships and communication
  • Boundaries and self-advocacy
  • Life transitions
  • Building confidence

How is coaching different from therapy?

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have extensive clinical training. However, coaching is not psychotherapy.

Therapy focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, processing trauma, and healing psychological distress. Coaching focuses on present and future goals, practical strategies, personal growth, and helping you create a life that aligns with your values.

If you’re looking for trauma treatment or mental health therapy, I can help you determine whether coaching is appropriate or whether therapy would better meet your needs.

Do you use a strengths-based approach?

Absolutely. I don’t view autism, ADHD, or other forms of neurodivergence as disorders that need to be cured. I view neurodiversity as a natural part of human evolution and work from the belief that every neurotype has strengths, challenges, and unique ways of engaging with the world.

Our work together focuses on understanding your nervous system and building supports that work with your brain—not against it.

What if I also have anxiety, trauma, or C-PTSD?

Many neurodivergent people have experienced chronic misunderstanding, invalidation, bullying, discrimination, or trauma. I understand how trauma can impact executive functioning, relationships, and daily life.

While coaching is not trauma therapy, I work in a trauma-informed way that prioritizes emotional safety, choice, collaboration, and nervous system awareness.

I’m late diagnosed. Is coaching right for me?

Absolutely. A late diagnosis can bring relief, grief, excitement, anger, and many questions. Coaching can help you process your new understanding of yourself, explore unmasking, rebuild self-trust, and create a life that honors your needs.

Do you work with professionals?

Yes. I enjoy working with professionals, creatives, helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders who want to reduce burnout, improve executive functioning, navigate workplace challenges, or build careers that align with their values.

What does a coaching session look like?

Coaching sessions are collaborative and conversational. We’ll identify what’s getting in your way, explore what’s working, and develop practical strategies tailored to your brain, your nervous system, and your goals.

There is no expectation that you’ll have everything figured out before you arrive.

Is your practice LGBTQIA+ affirming?

Yes. My practice is intentionally inclusive and affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities. I strive to create a space where you don’t have to explain, defend, or hide who you are.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Coaching is offered virtually, allowing you to connect from wherever you feel most comfortable.

Do you accept insurance?

Coaching is not covered by insurance and is a private-pay service.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching may be a good fit if you’re looking for practical support, accountability, greater self-understanding, and strategies that honor your neurodivergent brain.

If you’re unsure, schedule a consultation. We’ll talk about your goals and determine together whether coaching is the right fit.
